Overview

Senior Machine Learning Engineer for Assistance Engineering, working on agentic AI technologies to improve Airbnb’s customer service experience.

What you'll do

• Develop novel ML systems, product integrations, and performance optimizations.
• Collaborate cross-functionally to design and build efficient AI solutions for customer service products.
• Build and leverage AI technologies to enable personalized, proactive customer service.
• Shape early-stage initiatives from concept to production.
• Explore state-of-the-art agentic architecture and enhance AI models and ML services.

What you'll need

• PhD or Master’s with 6+ years of experience in CS/ML/AI or a related field, or equivalent industry experience.
• Hands-on expertise in LLMs including pretraining and fine-tuning (SFT, RLHF, GRPO).
• Experience with prompt engineering and RAG/search architectures.
• Experience with LLM evaluation frameworks.
• Experience building agentic AI systems, including multi-agent orchestration, tool-use, planning, memory, and autonomous reasoning pipelines.
• Experience shipping production-grade ML/AI systems at scale with ML infrastructure, model serving, and MLOps best practices.
