Senior Sales Engineer - FED

Overview

Senior Sales Engineer (FED) who partners with Sales to lead technical evaluations, deliver demos, and help customers adopt Datadog from discovery through closed won.

What you'll do

• Own the sales process with Account Executives by leading the technical strategy across opportunities.
• Lead customer discovery to uncover technical challenges, business goals, and success criteria, then map needs to Datadog solutions.
• Deliver product demos, technical presentations, and workshops linking platform capabilities to customer outcomes.
• Project manage technical evaluations (POVs) end-to-end, including scoping, defining success criteria, and timelines.
• Identify and cultivate technical champions in customer accounts to advocate for adoption and build internal consensus.
• Maintain operational excellence by keeping activity and deal progress documented in relevant systems.
• Collaborate with Product, Support, and GTM teams to address customer needs and resolve technical blockers.

What you'll need

• 5+ years of experience in Sales Engineering, Solutions Engineering, or a technical customer-facing enterprise role.
• Ability to navigate multi-stakeholder environments and communicate across technical, business, and executive audiences.
• Experience with public cloud (AWS, Azure, GCP), Kubernetes, and APM/tracing.
• Background in security, developer experience, and observability.
• Consultative approach to problem-solving and customer engagement.
• Ability to manage multiple opportunities and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Willingness to travel as needed for customer engagements.
