Service Engineer HVDC

Overview

Support the safe operation, maintenance, and reliability of the East West Interconnector using HVDC technology. The role is based primarily at the Portan HVDC Converter Station and includes support across Ireland, the UK, and occasionally internationally.

What you'll do

• Support safe and reliable operation of the East West Interconnector.
• Perform inspections, testing, and preventative maintenance.
• Support commissioning, upgrades, and outage activities.
• Provide technical support to customers and site teams.
• Complete maintenance records and technical reports.
• Contribute to root cause investigations and continuous improvement.
• Support knowledge sharing and technical development.

What you'll need

• Be a qualified electrician, electrical technician, or engineering graduate.
• Have experience with electrical power systems or industrial electrical equipment.
• Interpret electrical drawings and technical documentation.
• Use electrical testing and diagnostic equipment.
• Demonstrate troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Hold a full driving licence.
• Participate in a 24/7 on-call rota.

• Location: County Dublin, Ireland; primarily Portan HVDC Converter Station, Batterstown, County Meath.
• Participation in a 24/7 on-call rota is required.
• Must live or be willing to relocate within 60 minutes of the station.
• Travel across Ireland, the UK, and occasionally internationally may be required.
