Overview
Sr Engineer for the Product Debug team, driving software stability issue investigations across Qualcomm SoCs from pre-silicon validation through commercialization.
What you'll do
- Investigate and resolve complex system/software stability issues across multi-processor Linux and multi-RTOS environments.
- Triage stability issues by coordinating with cross-functional teams across hardware, software, test, and customer engineering.
- Use low-level debugging and instrumentation tools (JTAG, ETM, Trace32, GDB, oscilloscopes) to improve system analysis.
- Perform code inspection, instrumentation, and log analysis to identify root causes.
- Represent the debug team in chip bring-up and stability reviews/ scrums.
- Drive improvements to debug processes via automation, scripts, training materials, and GenAI services based on debug data sets.
What you'll need
- 2+ year software engineering (or related) experience, or 1+ year with a master’s, or a PhD.
- Programming experience with languages such as C, C++, Java, or Python.
- Expert-level knowledge of Linux internals (kernel, device drivers, memory management) and RTOS fundamentals (scheduling, synchronization).
- Proficiency in C/C++ with assembly familiarity as a plus.
- Hands-on debugging tool experience (Trace32, GDB) and understanding of hardware/software interaction.
- Knowledge of ARM and CPUSS architectures for system-level debugging and analysis.
- Ability to prioritize tasks across multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
