Staff Engineer

Overview

Staff Engineer focused on systems and storage performance engineering across Linux, distributed storage, and hardware/network acceleration technologies.

What you'll do

• Perform systems/storage performance engineering at staff/principal level.
• Profile and tune the Linux storage I/O path and kernel modules.
• Run distributed storage benchmarking at scale using tools including fio and file-system utilities.
• Work on NVMe/NVMe-oF, block-device internals, and RAID/erasure coding data paths.
• Optimize RDMA (RoCEv2/InfiniBand), TCP offload, and NUMA-aware tuning.
• Use C, Python, and Linux performance tooling such as perf, ftrace, eBPF, and flamegraphs.
• Add build gating and smoke-test stages to prevent broken builds reaching QE.

What you'll need

• 12+ years of systems/storage performance engineering experience at staff/principal level.
• Deep Linux storage I/O path and kernel module profiling/tuning experience.
• Experience with distributed storage benchmarking at scale using fio and file-system tools.
• Knowledge of NVMe/NVMe-oF and block-device internals including erasure coding/RAID data paths.
• Experience with RDMA (RoCEv2/InfiniBand), TCP offload, and NUMA-aware tuning.
• Proficiency with C, Python, and Linux perf tooling (perf, ftrace, eBPF, flamegraphs).

Nice to have

• Lustre performance experience including LNet, OSTs/MDTs, obdfilter-survey, and client fio.
• Software-defined NVMe-oF and distributed block storage internals experience.
• Experience with cloud bare-metal platforms (OCI/GCP) and dense NVMe systems.
• OFED/MOFED/DOCA driver evaluation and ConnectX-class NIC tuning experience.
