Overview
EM/IR Engineer for hardware systems focusing on EMIR signoff, power integrity analysis, and supporting design optimization for complex SoCs.
What you'll do
- Perform static and dynamic IR drop analysis, electromigration (EM) checks, and power grid optimization for complex SoCs.
- Run power estimation using Primepower and report EMIR status via detailed dashboards to the team lead.
- Debug and troubleshoot issues related to EMIR simulation setup and tool problems.
- Recommend updates to flows for new features, new tech nodes, and design corner cases.
- Write and maintain automation scripts in Python, Tcl, or Perl to parse results and streamline signoff flows.
- Partner with physical design, static timing analysis (STA), and packaging teams to clear layout bottlenecks and run trials.
- Collaborate with EDA vendors to test tool flows, qualify features, debug issues, and drive robust solutions.
What you'll need
- Bachelor's degree and 6+ years (or Master’s with 5+ years, or PhD with 4+ years) of hardware engineering experience.
- 5+ years of hardware engineering experience focusing on physical design signoff, power integrity, or IR/EM analysis.
- Hands-on tool experience with Ansys RedHawk, Cadence Voltus, and Primepower.
- Strong knowledge of EMIR fundamentals.
- Strong foundation in physical design flows including floorplanning, routing, and extraction.
- Robust scripting skills in Python or Tcl.
