Junior Engineer – Manufacturing Engineer

Overview

Junior Engineer – Manufacturing Engineer role focused on sheet metal manufacturing processes, DFX, and fixture design. The position is based in Chennai and reports to a Manager.

What you'll do

• Develop and perform DFX for sheet metal products.
• Review and update sheet metal DFX rulebooks regularly.
• Define GD&T best practices aligned with manufacturing capabilities.
• Design welding, assembly, checking, and machining fixtures for sheet metal parts.
• Develop detailed 3D fixture assemblies and manufacturing drawings.
• Prepare manufacturing documents including process flow diagrams, operation sheets, control plans, and PFMEA.
• Optimize sheet metal processes to reduce scrap, cycle time, and manufacturing cost.

What you'll need

• Have 1–3 years of relevant experience in sheet metal manufacturing.
• Have hands-on experience in sheet metal DFX checking and recommendations.
• Possess knowledge of sheet metal manufacturing standards and tooling.
• Use SolidWorks for fixture and gauge design.
• Know GD&T and tolerance stack-up.
• Have excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Demonstrate good analytical skills and reporting & decision-making skills.
