Manager, Engineering - Vulnerability Detection

Overview

Engineering Manager for CrowdStrike’s Vulnerability Detection team within Exposure Management, leading advanced detection capabilities for fingerprinting and assessing network devices.

What you'll do

• Lead development of vulnerability detection capabilities with fingerprinting techniques and detection pipelines.
• Monitor and analyze vulnerability disclosures from major vendors and translate findings into actionable detections.
• Build and manage a distributed team of vulnerability detection engineers and technical leads across time zones.
• Collaborate with product management and engineering to align detection capabilities with customer needs.
• Own validation processes for vulnerability detections using automated workflows to ensure quality.
• Use generative AI tools and AI agent workflows to accelerate vulnerability analysis and rule creation with human oversight.

What you'll need

• 8+ years in cybersecurity or vulnerability management.
• 5+ years management experience leading technical teams.
• Hands-on technical leadership in vulnerability detection techniques and network security.
• Communication skills for executive and technical audiences.
• Agile/Scrum methodology experience to scale processes.
• Programming skills in Go, Python, or similar languages.
• BSCS or comparable field of study.
• Ability to work 2+ days per week on site from Pune or Bengaluru offices.

Nice to have

• Network device fingerprinting and assessment experience.
• Vulnerability management product development background.
• Security detection pipeline design and implementation.
• Remote/distributed multi-team leadership experience.
• Understanding of CVE analysis, CVSS scoring, and risk-based prioritization.
• Experience with organizational scaling and process optimization.
• GenAI/Agentic AI automation experience for vulnerability detection or security workflow optimization.
• Thought leadership in Exposure Management or Vulnerability Risk Management via publications/speaking/industry contributions.
