Mechanical Engineer (E3) – Design for Cost (DFC)

Overview

Mechanical Engineer (E3) focused on Design for Cost (DFC), working across mechanical problem-solving, tooling/process design, documentation, and project/supplier coordination.

What you'll do

• Identify and troubleshoot difficult mechanical problems with limited supervision.
• Develop, design, or modify mechanical engineering layouts, schematics, and specifications.
• Design and implement custom mechanical tooling/fixturing and associated handling/assembly/disassembly processes.
• Oversee manufacturing and installation processes to ensure adherence to industry standards and regulations.
• Coordinate procurement and assembly of mechanical components and equipment for design projects.
• Technically lead or execute projects and develop key suppliers; generate mechanical product specifications.

What you'll need

• Bachelor’s degree and 4-7 years of experience.
• Demonstrated CAD software experience.
• Knowledge of thermodynamics.
• Experience with sheet metal design and material selection.
• Experience with manufacturing methods and GD&T.
• Experience with flow analysis and/or training in Design for Excellence.
