Principal Presales Engineer

Overview

Principal Presales Engineer on Twilio’s Strategic Communications team, partnering with Sales to deliver technical wins and product fit for strategic segment opportunities.

What you'll do

• Partner with Account Executives on pre-sales activities including qualification, demonstrations, Proof-of-Concept, RFPs, and technical presentations.
• Lead technical and product sale conversations and recommend best-practice solutions using Twilio’s APIs.
• Run discovery to understand customer technical pains and present solutions that solve business challenges.
• Build and deliver highly interactive, complex product demonstrations for technical and nontechnical stakeholders.
• Propose technical architectures and demonstrate the product, anticipating concerns and offering creative solutions.
• Provide leadership and deal support within the Solutions Engineer organization for medium to large projects.
• Contribute to the Solutions Engineering community by sharing knowledge and creating reusable materials; mentor less experienced engineers.

What you'll need

• 8+ years pre-sales experience selling complex, technical products OR 10+ years professional experience supporting technical products with customer-facing experience.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills to gain audience confidence.
• Ability to communicate complex topics to multiple audience levels.
• Ability to understand customer communications needs and guide them to a technical solution.
• Previous software development experience or working knowledge in one or more listed technical areas.
• Bachelor’s and/or Master’s degree in a technical discipline or equivalent practical experience.

Details

• Work mode: Remote (US), with ad-hoc in-person reporting possible for team gatherings, off-sites, or customer meetings.
• Travel: approximately 25% is anticipated.
