Senior Engineer - VAVE & Cost Out

Overview

Senior Engineer role focused on Value Analysis/Value Engineering (VAVE), cost reduction, teardown/benchmarking, and cost-out activities for HVAC, appliance, or automotive product design.

What you'll do

• Drive teardown, benchmarking, and VAVE/cost-out programs using project engineering activities.
• Generate design concepts and feasibility analysis with multiple design options.
• Review existing processes and prepare test plans for component and system-level requirements.
• Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, supply chain, procurement, and other teams to identify and implement cost-saving opportunities.
• Assess current product design limitations and propose concepts to reduce material consumption and manufacturing costs.
• Prepare manufacturing engineering drawings, document design updates, conduct evaluations, and manage follow-ups.
• Perform stack-up and tolerance analyses and support design-phase deliverables for electromechanical products.

What you'll need

• At least 3+ years of experience in teardown/benchmarking/VAVE/cost-out programs.
• Knowledge of VAVE methodology and project life cycle.
• Experience in product design and multiple material selections.
• Good knowledge of manufacturing processes (plastic injection, stamping, sheet metal, machining, casting, electromechanical assemblies).
• Experience with DFMEA, PFMEA, tolerance stack-up analysis, and GD&T.
• Experience with PLM system for drawings and cost data (Windchill).
• BE Mechanical Engineering with minimum 8 to 10 years of experience in HVAC, appliances, or automotive industry.
• Hands-on experience in Creo 9 or any design software.
